- 1/4 Cup shortening
- 1/2 Cup sugar
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/2 Cup molasses
- 2 Cups Flour
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp soda
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp ginger
- Thourghly cream shortneting & sugar
- Add eggs & molasses - beat thourghly
- Add sifted dry ingredients - mix -chill
- Form into small balls - dip in granulated sugar
- Arrange on greased cookie sheet, flaten with finger, fork, or glass
- Sprinkle with sugar before baking.
- Cooking times vary: 9min@360 -> 10min@375 (middle to top rack)
- Remove from cookie sheet immediately to cooking rack
